Thursdays at 7:00 PM
A weekly alternative Praise Worship Service on Thursday evenings at Lima UMC. Services are from 7:00pm - 7:45pm and child care is provided. Each week offers a time of praise music and an uplifting message. On the third Thursday of every month communion and healing will be offered.
If you need a midweek Spiritual pick me up, an alternative to Sunday morning worship, or a diverse place to worship, then let God's light SHINE through at this Worship Service.
In the summer months we will be having SHINE worship at 7:00 PM followed by FREE make your own sundae. Please join us for a wonderful time of fellowship and ice cream!

To kick off it’s first meeting of the 2008-2009 season Ruth Circle will show the movie “Amazing Grace” (which is the story behind our beloved hymn) in Fellowship Hall on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 7:45 PM. Anyone who is interested in watching this movie is welcome to join us.
In addition, if you are looking for an opportunity to join with an energetic and enthusiastic group of women who discuss Christian and social issues which impact our daily lives, Ruth Circle could be for you. We meet the first Thursday of every month at 7:45 PM in the Church Lounge. If this sounds like the group you have been looking for we hope you will consider joining us.

Fall classes will resume on September 7 with RALLY DAY at 9:45 AM in Fellowship Hall.
Following music and our famous cheerleaders,. children will go with their teachers to their classes and the adults will begin their fall studies. We have a place for everyone. Set aside time for Christian education - it's your life!

7:00 PM - Handbell Choir
8:00 PM - Chancel Choir
The first rehearsal of the Handbell and Chancel Choirs will be on Wednesday, September 10th at 7:00 & 8:00 PM and the Chancel Choir will sing on Sunday, September 14th.
We will also have a pick-up choir on Sunday, September 7th. Any choir members who are available, please meet in the Choir Room at 10:15 AM and we will rehearse something easy to sing in the 11:00 AM service that day.

We are kicking off our new year with an evening of fun, fellowship and food. Please mark your calendars now and then keep a look out for your Kick-Off invitation and Youth Group registration form which will arrive in the mail the first week in September.

Lima Christian Nursery School Openings
Openings are available in the Lima Christian Nursery School and the After Kindergarten programs for the September 2008 school year. Nursery school classes are provided for three, four and five year olds in a nurturing environment that provides age appropriate activities. Children attending morning kindergarten classes at Glenwood and Indian Lane can be bused to our afternoon program.
Parents are encouraged to visit the school, complete the registration form and pay the nonrefundable registration fee of $50 to enroll their child. Lima Christian Nursery School is located in the Lima UM Church, 209 North Middletown Rd, Lima, PA.

Welcome to an informal get together for fellowship, idea sharing, and help with knitting/ crocheting projects! This class is sponsored by the Fellowship Activities Committee of LUMC. It is open to everyone in the community.
The Knit/Crochet Class works on several projects throughout the year including baby caps for newborns, lap blankets, children's sweaters, scarves, and shawls to help Outreach's Prayer Shawl ministry. Our summer project was scarves for the Philadelphia homeless people at 63rd Street shelter.
We meet the second Saturday from 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the Disciple's Den next to Wesley Hall. There is no cost for this afternoon. We have yarn for you to create projects. For more information, please contact Linda Youngstrom.
Ideas and Helpers Needed
During the month of November 2008 and especially on November 16 we will be celebrating the 175th anniversary of Lima UM Church. We are in the process of planning activities for that event.
